First Tournament Update

joburg

My first event of 2013 didn’t go according to plan, but I did take a lot of positives out of it going forward.

The Joburg open was this week and over two rounds I shot 70-72 and missed the cut by 3. Over the last few weeks at home, most of my practice was focussed on ball striking. That part worked great this week, I hit the ball great. Unfortunately the part that hadn’t been getting much attention was the short game, and it showed.

I was very rusty on and around the greens, and just couldn’t capitalise on the chances I was giving myself.
I have been working on my putting and chipping over the weekend, and I am looking forward to next weeks Africa Open in East London.
Hopefully the rust has been dusted off, and here’s to a promising kick start to the 2013 season in the Eastern Cape.
Speak soon,
Callum
